HELP WANTED

I often get asked by generous friends of Operation Orphan as to how they can help.  Donations and purchases though our Amazon Wish List have been a tremendous help to me this year and I thank you very much to all that have donated.

Today, I come to you with a very specific need that is very important to the operations of OOWR.

In 2002 Operation Orphan Wildlife Rehabilitation, Inc., purchased a 5′ x 8′ utility trailer.   It has been used for many reasons at the facility but the biggest purpose is to transport cages and maintain animals while on weekend programs at campgrounds.

That little trailer served us very well over the years, but it is now very old and we have outgrown it. In addition, we have larger cages now and I am unable to stand up in the old trailer making it not only hard on myself, but hard to maneuver the heavy cages with animals inside

I have recently found a 6′ x12′ trailer, that with a few added vents and an electric box for a fan, would be the perfect fit the variety of cages that we use and a comfortable place for the animals on long weekend programs at campgrounds.

As I have mentioned many, many times, education is a large part of our work and if we don’t have a safe and humane way to transport the animals to and from programs, we will not be able to carry out a big part of our mission.

Today I am reaching out to you for donations to purchase this trailer.  The total cost will be $3000.00. In exchange for your donation, I will be posting a donors list in our next newsletter (unless the donor does not want to be recognized) and will place a plaque of some kind on the trailer listing the names as well.

We will be accepting tax-free donations until August 10, 2018.  Anyone wanting to make donations toward the purchase of the trailer can do so by PayPal using this link:

or by  sending a check to Operation Orphan, P.O. Box 15042, Akron Ohio 44314
(Please place the word “TRAILER” in the memo section of your check so we’ll know what it is for).

Any help given will be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your support. ~ Fran
